Life insurers ask Irdai to charge surrender value on accumulated premia
They said life insurance companies have put forth their recommendation, which will be submitted to the insurance regulator through the Life Insurance Council.
Urban Indians’ insurance adoption up but financial security still below pre-Covid levels
Mumbai: Urban India has shown progress in financial readiness, with 3 out of 4 urban Indians now owning life insurance products. However, their financial security levels are yet to recover to pre-Covid levels, according to Max Life Insurance’s ‘India Protection Quotient (IPQ)’ survey. The sixth edition of the IPQ survey, or IPQ 6.0, was conducted in partnership with marketing data and analytics company Kantar. It covered 4,700 respondents across 25 Indian cities and surveyed urban India’s pulse on financial protection.
LIC gets analysts premium post strong Q3 show
Chennai: For Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the start of the current fiscal turned out be a momentous one, as it managed to come out of a year-long bear grip since its listing in May 2022. The stock of LIC dipped to a low of ₹530.20 on March 29 last year, but since then it not only managed to regain its IPO price of ₹949, but also beat heavyweights such as ITC, Hindustan Unilever, Bharti Airtel and SBI to become the sixth most-valued firm. It currently commands a market capitalisation of ₹6.38-lakh crore.
